Who We are

Christopher Gillis' obsession with beautiful things started in his teen years. An avid reader of Vogue and Bazaar, it was those very pages and all their beauty that helped him through his teen years. Some teens become sullen, Christopher became a fashionista! Although his first love, Christopher did not go to fashion school rather, school for another creative medium –dance. Not one to go unchallenged, Christopher would eventually try his hand at academia and complete a degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration. In addition to his background in theatre, Christopher has been a policy analyst for the federal government, consulted for provincial governments, worked in the not-for-profit sector and most recently as a sessional professor with the University of Prince Edward Island in political science. Christopher’s varied background and personal determination allows him to manage the most challenging of situations all the while remembering the “big picture” and the importance of people. Christopher is a proud Islander – born and bred!

Craig Dauphinee is from Raynardton, NS – Raynard was his grandfather’s last name and as a result grew up in a community named after his family. This intimate setting allowed Craig to foster a strong sense of family and with his family came a collection of collectors. From an early age Craig attended auctions and yard sales with his mother and grandmother from which his love of antiques, junktiques and unique items grew. The details man at The Empire, Craig is a Red Seal chef and worked in the hospitality industry for many years before he too turned his hand to academia with the completion of a degree in applied culinary operations and an MBA from the University of Prince Edward Island (2013). Craig sailed the high seas for many years aboard Celebrity and Holland American cruise lines as the manager of the food and beverage department.
