The Church

We bought a church in Annapolis Royal, N.S. It is formerly an Anglican church but was converted into a home in the last few years. We purchased it having never been in it – the photos and video the real-estate agent took for us was enough. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it and knew it would be “right”. We were overwhelmed yesterday to walk into it for the first time and find it has exceeded our expectations. It is a beautifully restored building and in an amazing location. All it needs now is the touch of The Empire!

The wood will be left untouched. However, what can otherwise be painted, will be! Picture rich creams on the kitchen cabinets, bedroom walls and in the stairwell up to the loft. We have a couple of ideas for the built in bookcase but will leave that for further reveals! At some point we would like to lighten up the main bathroom and the kitchen but for now, we will focus on furnishing it. The furnishings will be light in colour and modern.

We plan to use the church when we can and rent it out seasonally. However, before we use it we will have to fill it with beautiful things. We couldn’t be more excited to HAVE to go shopping and even more excited to eventually spend our first night in The Church.

    • We too can’t wait to see what we do with the church! We purchased it sight-unseen so were overwhelmed when we saw it for the first time over the Christmas holidays. It is more beautiful than we could have hoped.

Thanks for the comment, Brenda. I checked out your website and love it! Always great to learn about the wonderful and creative things folks on PEI are doing. If we are ever up your way we will be sure to stop in and say hello!
